Making a Difference Together

DUE TO THE COVID-19 STAY AT HOME DIRECTIVE,  SOME OF THESE ACTIVITIES ARE STILL ACTIVE  AND MEMBERS ARE PARTICIPATING, AND SOME MAY HAVE CHANGED. FOR MORE INFO PLEASE CONTACT THE LEAD FOR EACH GROUP.

Our Mission focus in February is CHRISTNET!

Our host week of ChristNet is fast approaching - just four weeks away, February 28 - March 6.

Our Nighttime Shelter guests are being housed at a local hotel where CDC guidelines can be maintained.   ChristNet churches are participating by providing and delivering prepared dinners as well as supplies for breakfast and lunches.

Though in many ways the week will be different, one thing definitely remains the same – the need for your support.

In the church office is the list of meal coordinators who will each need the assistance of 5 – 6 people for food preparation and packaging assistance.  Please call that person directly is you would like to help.

We also have donations needed for the breakfasts and lunches.  The list can be requested from Linda Dickman or from the church office.

If you would like to donate supplies, please call Linda Dickman, 734 673-2444, or the church office between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.

The signup sheets will also be available on the counter in the office.

Donations may be dropped off at the church the week of February 21 – 25 during office hours and on Saturday, February 27 between 10:00 am and noon.

I am looking forward to some much needed masked, socially distanced fellowship during our Host Week!  Please call if you have suggestions or questions.

Thank you for your support! - Linda Dickman

This is an outreach program for people who need clothing...FREE, used clothing.

We anticipate volunteers to make a monthly promise to be a "shopkeeper" for us.

TIME TO SHARE, INC.

When ChristNet guests move into government funded housing, they generally have no furniture or furnishings to make their new dwelling a home. Time to Share is a ministry focused on helping these individuals.

Time to Share volunteers work closely with the Wayne Metropolitan Action Agency case workers to identify the individuals moving into new housing. The volunteers provide donated furniture and furnishings to these new residents free of charge.

Over 90 previously homeless individuals have been provided furniture in the last two years. As the need for this service expanded, the storage requirements expanded from volunteers' personal garages to three 20' x 10' storage lockers (and still some personal garages).

The purposes for Time to Share are:

  • To receive, store, and distribute donations of furniture and furnishings for homeless people moving into government funded (or partially funded) housing.
  • To repair and/or refinish donated furniture to make it serviceable.
  • To rent space for temporary storage of the furniture and furnishings collected
  • To purchase, maintain, and operate a box trailer in order to pick up and distribute the furniture and furnishings.
  • To undertake such activities as are necessary and proper to meet the needs of the homeless people that our efforts are intended to benefit and serve.

Financial donations are appreciated to offset the cost of operations.

The immediate needs for the funds are currently for:

  • a 6' x 10' trailer
  • rent for three 20' x 10' storage lockers

Donations can be sent to:
