What Messy Church Is NOT:
- Not a Traditional Church Service
Messy Church offers an alternative format to Sunday mornings, often meeting on a different day or time. - Not a Craft Club
While crafts are part of the fun, they are a tool for exploring faith, not the main purpose. - Not a Sunday School for Children
Messy Church is intentionally intergenerational—children, teens, adults, and elders participate and grow together. - Not a Pathway to Sundays
Messy Church is not simply a stepping stone to traditional worship. It stands as a complete and valid expression of church in its own right. - Not a Perfect, Ordered Event
The “messy” name reflects the reality of life—relaxed, playful, creative, and open to the Spirit’s work.
