Call to Worship:

Leader: Like the tender mother who supports a child’s first steps,
People: God guides us along.
Leader: Like the loving grandmother who gathers us into an abundant lap,
People: God holds us in our times of need.
Leader: Like a caring mother who seems to sense our needs,
People: God is mysteriously working for good in all our days.
Leader: In many ways and with many faces,
People: God loves us. Let us worship our God together!

*Opening Hymn “Where He Leads Me" 338

1st Scripture Reading: Psalm 1:1-3 CEB

The truly happy person doesn’t follow wicked advice, doesn’t stand on the road of sinner and doesn’t sit with the disrespectful. Instead of doing those things, these persons love the Lord's instruction and they recite God's instruction day and night! They are like a tree replanted by streams of water, which bears fruit at just the right time and whose leaves don’t fade. Whatever they do succeeds.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Benediction (Unison)

We all experience countless ups and downs as we journey through life. When we interact with our brothers and sisters in Christ, reaching out to help one another, we gain strength and courage to persevere. As we learn to support and pray for one another and to work together, we become the example that Jesus commanded us to be when he said, “Love one another”. Let us leave here today and go forth to love and serve the Lord!
